Common EGR symptoms
EGR problems can cause hesitation, rough idle, black smoke, poor fuel economy, reduced power, limp mode and engine management lights. On some vehicles, a poor EGR system can also contribute to DPF problems.
Valve, cooler and flow faults
The EGR valve itself is not always the only issue. EGR coolers, position sensors, flow monitoring, wiring faults, vacuum control and carbon build-up can all create similar symptoms.
Diagnostics before parts
Replacing parts by guesswork can get expensive. We check the code, the conditions that set it and whether the readings match the physical behaviour of the vehicle.
